Our hearts are broken open at the loss of life of plants, animals and humans in the devastating Knysna fires this week. As nature works to restore and reinvent herself, we send our healing love to all affected. Linda Tucker Foundation is aware of so many LionHearted heroes currently assisting those in need, and we invite you to follow our lead in supporting the work of the Knysna SPCA or any of the remarkable animal rescue operations working around the clock right now to alleviate the suffering. Linda Tucker Foundation has chosen to contribute to the Wolf Sanctuary, where volunteers are doing a remarkable job of not only caring for all the rescued wolves in their sanctuary, but also reaching out to help others wherever they can. ... UPDATE AT LAST FROM ROBIN MCDONALD - SANCTUARY MANAGER - THE LUPUS FOUNDATION T/AS TSITSIKAMMA WOLF SANCTUARY: Hi everyone - to our families and friends, and Facebook friends. We have driven far and wide to get a tiny signal to send out an Update. Our home and sanctuary is absolutely devastated with 1000s of rands damage and we need public and corporate support to rebuild the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary. We are currently closed to the public and will be for many days to come. BUT - despite this all human beings and wolves are SAFE. Thank goodness. We spent the entire night monitoring fences, winds and the raging fire... Please.... Rally people and companies you know that can sponsor funds for poles, fencing, equipment etc. this is our biggest effort. We are extremely proud of the volunteers that live at the sanctuary and grateful to the team from Doctors Across Borders (t/as Doctors Beyond Medicine), who with one 4x4 Fortuner and our sanctuary bakkie gave their all. Tremendous effort given to support the local people and animals that were driven off burning grounds as the fire swept past within uncomfortable proximity to the sanctuary. We are now driving through the land across our way and it's massive devastation, trying to help anyone that we can... No one has power or water, choppers bombing the fire sites, winds being monitored very closely and everyone from the sanctuary volunteering help where they can to ensure we can bring everyone to safety... So, humans and animals accounted for, damage unimaginable and funds required desperately.... If anyone is willing to donate please do so: The Lupus Foundation Nedbank, Claremont Branch Number: 104609 Account Number: 2046548558 (Savings Account) SWIFT CODE- NEDSZAJJ Or go to our "Go Fund Me" page www.gofundme.com/rebuilding-the-wolf-sanctuary?pc=fb_co_dashboard_a&rcid=54e8a5350d854eda99c45d56...

Heartbreaking news from our friends and colleagues at Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary, who have lost two of their rescued lions to poachers in a horrific attack. We know the grief of losing a life, especially a life so lovingly fought for and cared for, and we offer our deepest sympathy to Minunette and Savannah Heuser, owners of Emoya. The two lions, poached apparently for their body parts, are part of a group of 33 former circus lions rescued in 2016 from circuses in Peru and Colombia.
WE WILL REDOUBLE our efforts to have lions legally, properly protected. We will always protect the sacred.
Minunette and Savannah, our hearts are with you and your lions.
May Peace Prevail on Earth.
